Brian Rochefort

Brian Rochefort (*1985), “the bad boy of ceramics” and “the man behind the crater”, is inspired by Mother Earth herself and his highly textured, abound and lush clay sculptures are impressive eruptions of nature’s beauty and power.

Rochefort lives and works in Los Angeles, California. He holds a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design (2007) and participated in the Lillian Fellowship and Residency at Archie Bray Foundation in 2008 and 2009.

He had his first institutional solo show at the Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Barbara in 2019. Rochefort was included in the museum exhibitions Artifices Instables, Stories of Ceramics at Nouveau Musee National de Monaco, Monte Carlo, Monaco; Cool Clay at Crocker Art Museum, Sacramento, CA; Regarding George Ohr at Boca Raton Museum of Art, FL; and From Funk to Punk at Everson Museum of Art, NY.
