Roy Lichtenstein

20th century American artist Roy Lichtenstein rose to prominence with his iconic works inspired by comic strips. Lichtenstein is considered a leading figure of the Pop Art movement, along with Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns, and others. The influence of comics and advertising are clearly portrayed in his works. His aforementioned “comic strip” style works were often parodies of contemporary social themes.
